Is your device dual active or dual standby?

What this means is, that your device will either be able to have both SIMS active at the same time and you can switch between the two, or it will “listen” with both, but only one can be used at a time. Most newer dual SIM phones allow dual active mode, with older or cheaper devices more limited Dual SIM functionality.

Do both SIM slots have the same connectivity?

Check that the dual SIM slots have the same network capability (e.g 3G/4G or 5G) so that you can avoid issues with network connectivity. Certain devices limit the speeds or service on the secondary SIM slot. Some devices may have network locking on the secondary SIM slot if the primary SIM slot does not have the default network SIM active on the primary SIM slot.
